Renovating The Right Way With Garbage Removal

When my husband and I started buying bank-owned properties a few years back, I realized that clean-up was going to be a big part of the job. We were purchasing properties that were filled with trash, and it was really overwhelming at first. Fortunately, after cleaning up the mess on my own for a few houses, we wised up and started using a professional garbage removal company. In addition to hauling the garbage away quickly, they also took care of things like disposal fees and dumpster rentals. This blog is all about the advantages of expert garbage removal and why it is worth the investment.

Simple Tips For Organizing Your Garage

by Marina Montero

If your garage is a jumbled mess, starting the organization process can be overwhelming. It doesn't have to be, though. By breaking the organization process down into smaller tasks, you can easily organize your garage. So, if you're having trouble tackling the task of garage organization, these tips will help walk you through the process.

Declutter Your Garage

Before you can even begin the organization process, you have to get rid of the clutter. The easiest way to do that is to sort the items in your garage into three different piles: Keep, Trash, and Donate. Remember, you need to go through everything in your garage, especially boxes. The last thing you want to do is realize there may have been a family heirloom stored in a box that was hauled away by your garbage pick up service.

Once you've sorted your belongings into piles, you can call a garbage pick up service, such as Fast Haul, to haul away the items in the trash pile, and take the items in your donate pile to the charity of your choice. Alternatively, you can hold a garage sale to sell some of the items in your donate pile. Once the garage sale is complete, you can call a garbage pick up service to haul away the remaining items.

Use the Vertical Space

If you want to be able to park your car in your garage, you need to leave the garage floor clear. To do that, you need to learn how to use the space on the garage walls for storage. Besides hanging up pegboard to hang your tools on the wall, you can do the following:

  • Hang a magnetic tool bar to store drill bits, screws, and nails so that you don't need to dig through drawers to find what you need.
  • Hang a paper towel holder on the wall to store large rolls of garbage bags.
  • Hang several bungee cords, vertically, and use them to wrangle items, such as footballs, basketballs, and soccer balls.

Use Ceiling Space

Don't let the space above your vehicle go to waste. Instead, install suspended shelving to add storage for items that can't be stored along your garage walls. Shelving suspended from the garage ceiling is ideal for items such as holiday decorations and bins of out-of-season clothing.

Between sorting your things, hiring a garbage pick up service to haul away the junk, and organizing the things that you keep, organizing your garage can be a big project. However, once the project is complete and you can park your car in the garage, you'll be glad you took the time to do it.
