Renovating The Right Way With Garbage Removal

When my husband and I started buying bank-owned properties a few years back, I realized that clean-up was going to be a big part of the job. We were purchasing properties that were filled with trash, and it was really overwhelming at first. Fortunately, after cleaning up the mess on my own for a few houses, we wised up and started using a professional garbage removal company. In addition to hauling the garbage away quickly, they also took care of things like disposal fees and dumpster rentals. This blog is all about the advantages of expert garbage removal and why it is worth the investment.

What Affects The Cash Value Of A Junk Car?

by Marina Montero

People who have junk vehicles should seriously consider selling them for cash. They are often surprised when they discover they can get cash for junk cars and by how much they receive. Several things will affect the value whenever you sell a junk vehicle so let's break down what those are.

Title

When you sell vehicles in this condition, you're usually also trying to sell junk car titles. The title isn't essential to selling the car in most jurisdictions, but there will be some extra legal work to justify the sale. This is common when dealing with abandoned vehicles, for example. A buyer will always prefer to have the title in hand when they purchase a junk vehicle.

Usable Spare Parts

Especially if you're selling a car to a scrap yard operator, much of the value for the buyer is in the potential sale of spare parts. Corner panels and doors, for example, are commonly damaged in accidents. Salvage companies frequently sit on these components for months or years waiting for the right customer to ask about them.

Notably, this means the running condition of the vehicle isn't that relevant to most scrap businesses. Do not worry if the vehicle's engine is totally blown and scattered or its transmission won't even shift. If there are at least a couple of good panels on the body, there's probably value in the car.

Generally, more common cars have better values based on spare parts. These get into accidents more often just because there are more of them, and people ask for parts more often. However, some highly collectible cars will do well even if they're uncommon and their parts are rusty.

Catalytic Converters and Other Emissions Systems

Emissions-control systems tend to use either platinum or palladium to catalyze polluting chemicals into less harmful materials. These scrap metals often have immense value, sometimes more than the value of the rest of the car.

Unfortunately, thieves frequently target these components for that reason. Consequently, it's a good idea to check that the catalytic converter is still present, especially if a car has sat in an unsecured area like a parking lot or field for a while. You can use your phone's camera to take pictures of the underside of the car. A stolen converter is usually obvious because you'll see where thieves sawed it off.

Also, it's a good idea to check that the converted hasn't rusted into oblivion or been blown apart by pressure. This can be a little harder to judge, but the exhaust system should look at least somewhat intact.
